Happy Catechetical Sunday

 

Today the Church celebrates Catechetical Sunday, a special day to show gratitude to the people who serve the Church through the ministry of Catechesis. Here at the St. Bernard’s we would like to express our gratitude to our Catechists for their commitment and dedication to our Religious Education Program

 

High School Youth Group

All High School students from our parish are welcome to join us at our High School Youth Group which meets on Thursday nights from 7:00 pm—8:30 pm in the Recreation Room. High School Youth Group activities include, spiritual conferences, retreats, trips, Midnight runs, game nights, and other service oriented activities. If you are a High School student we hope you will join us at a future meeting.

St. Bernard’s Tag Sale

Our Tag Sale is scheduled for October 13th—15th in Chapel Hall from, 9am-3pm. Donations for the Tag Sale can be dropped off at the Rectory,  Monday through Friday from 9-5.   This year we need many new volunteers to help organize and staff the Tag Sale.  Please contact Millie Castro at 843-0663 for further information.

Join the St. Bernard’s Choir This Fall

 You are invited to join the Choir! No musical or chorale experience is necessary!  Our Choirs have begun practicing and singing during our SundayMasses.  The Youth Choir rehearses every Wednesday during the Religious Education year from 5:30 pm to 6:30pm, and The Adult English Choir rehearses from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesdays in the Music Room. Beginning Experience

The Beginning Experience is offering a healing weekend from October 6th to 8th at the St. Lawrence Retreat Center in Beacon, New York. This invitation is open to men and women of all ages who have suffered the loss of a spouse through death, divorce, or separation. It is a time to heal and a time to begin anew. Interested in Becoming Catholic or Completing Your Initiation Into the Catholic Church?

If you know of anyone who is interested in becoming a Catholic or who is already a baptized Catholic and would like to receive First Holy Communion and or Confirmation please let them know about our RCIA program for adults. Our English RCIA program meets on Wednesday nights at 8 pm and our Spanish RCIA program meets on Sunday mornings at 8 am. For more information contact the Rectory at (914)949-2111.

Homebound Parishioners

Eucharistic Ministers are available to bring Holy Communion to homebound parishioners who are unable to attend Mass. If you know of a homebound parishioner who might like to receive Holy Communion please let them know that Eucharistic Ministers are available to bring them Holy Communion and to contact the Rector
